Recently I’ve been playing with the splendid Shadertoy. It’s remarkably powerful and a great way to experiment and learn new techniques.

Thus far, most of my shaders have been ray marching through distance fields, such as this one doing sub-surface scattering & reflections:


At some point I might do a post explaining the algorithm, but for now you can play around with the code and see what it does.
