Shadertoy

Recently I’ve been playing with the splendid Shadertoy. It’s remarkably powerful and a great way to experiment and learn new techniques.

Thus far, most of my shaders have been ray marching through distance fields, such as this one doing sub-surface scattering & reflections:

At some point I might do a post explaining the algorithm, but for now you can play around with the code and see what it does.

Introduction

After almost 15 years programming graphics professionally – on such games as ToCA Race Driver, Uncharted, and Aliens vs Predator – I’ve finally found the willpower to spend my free time programming for fun. This gives me a chance to play around with things that I can’t do in my day job, and I decided to start this blog to share the things I come up with.
